speedometer on 172 mk 1

hello,
my speedometer on 172 mk1 sometimes work,and sometimes not working(fall)
please help me...

remove the dash top and check the connections? need to be more descriptive with the fault

check the sensor, its on the gearbox, at the top of the mount for the dog bone mount., ( look over the inlet manifold at the back near the zorst mani)

Hold the computer button in on the stalk and start the car, it will then go into a diagnostics check. See what happens.
