spigot rings



  A well built VW


I have somebody wanting my alloys from th clio but they have a Yaris they will fit the only difference being the centre bore is smaller on the Yaris , do i need to get diffferent sprigot rings when they are fited ? \Are these universal or are they wheel specific ? and where can i buy some

They could buy them from anywhere that sells your make of wheel. I think it was Loony or smokey though that has said they arent needed always.

the rings centre the wheel on the hub so that each bolt gets a quarter of the wheel. i ran with out rings on my old corsa for a year no probs at all. not having them means its just a pain fitting the wheel

when i ran without them the ride was bad, steering feel was crap, car felt like it was breaking up at anything over 50mph...

In the end I was given spigot rings that were still a little off, they helped, but you could still feel it slightly, ended up shearing 3 wheel bolts on one wheel, assuming it was from the excessive prolonged vibrations. Since bought new rings all round and its ALOT better, no annoying vibrations, better feel from the steering (as you dont need to worry about the vibrations).

Id never run without them now.
