keep it powered off, remove as much as you can, hdd, battery, cd, etc, etc tip it up on one side to let any water run out, leave it a day, dry off the removed bits and check for no water inside the laptop itself, piece it back together, if it doesn't turn on then its f'd

Didn't you get any kind of insurance with your laptop ? If not claim on your house insurance mate .

dont be tempted to power it back on after a day "just to check" if it works... thats when things go bang!

leave it for 3 days in the airing cupboard... should see it good.

that was lucky, keep it on for a while and the heat from itself should completely dry out everything :)

if you get any electronic device wet:

-IMMEDIATLY REMOVE THE BATTERY!!!
-dont use excessive heat as things will expand and contract
-leave it to dry out with gentle heat, i.e 60w lightbulb.
-try and dry as much as you can.
-open it up as much as you can and dab with cotton bud. to get rid of excess water.

thanks to some tv prog where they did an experiment :approve:
