Splicing into interior lighting

I've decided the rear of the car is far too dark since it has no interior light, coupled with the tinted windows. Had an idea of hiding some white LED strips but where's a suitable place to splice into the lighting circuit? Already added some footwell lights but they're jumping off the main interior light and adding more would probably be a bad idea.

Anyone know?

Could you not try and run it off the headlights stalk?

Edit: Just reread what you put, LED's draw hardly any power. It will be perfectly safe for more!

I'll probably jump off the interior light again then! Least then it'll turn off and on when the main light does

LED's draw so little, you can litrally put hundreds on a single circuit designed for normal bulbs. More if your standard interior lights are LED.

Was thinking that but then decided I wanted them to turn on when the car was unlocked, centre light turned on etc. Tempted to wire them up on a switch that allows them to come on with the other light, and independently. Just like standard lights!
