These Are generally for german cars.
Would this mean I would have to modify my wheels arch?

any wide split rims if you want to go low the arches will need modding

I just want split rims to fit straight to the clio.
No arch modding!
Don't have to be awfully wide just as wide as I can go without modification
If you know the width I can go to that would be helpful also

id say 8.5 on rear you will get away with if you choose the right offset, 8s on front.

i had my rear arches cut out on a 7.5 inch rim. Offset is important on splits as they tend to be wider..

I'm running 16x8" fronts and rear with no scrubbage, et 25 offset, 195/40/16 tyres.
