splitter coming off

went for an indian with the gf this weekend and the carpark curb attacked my sills and pulled the spitter off in the middle. ive got some self tapping self drilling stainless screws to screw it back on. any one any other better ways of doing it. its the standard rubber splitter on a mk2 ph1 1.2.

self tapers is all thats holding mine on so should be fine
