Sports Cats

  Seat Leon Cupra 290
Ive got one on my cup which came with the car when i brought it, needs an mot soon and may need taking off as the emmsions light is now firmly stuck on, im thinking of just selling it off, but was wondering if they actually make much difference with power.
i had a de-cat on my 106 rallye and made a hell of a difference so dont wanna make any power cuts.

yeh thats supposed to be the idea, but seems not, could be a faulty light but seems dubious. might of well had a de-cat really if its gonna be like that

  172 ph1 ASBO SLAYER
i was phoneing around for a decat for a 172 ph1 with twin lambda's and have been told by prima, k-tec, scorpion and magnex that no-one does a twin labda version for the ph1 is this true?
(i don't want to leave the downstream one off altogether and i don't see why i should have to mod a brand new exhaust!)

They dont; do a twin lamba one for a reason, the 2nd lambda is there to make sure the cat is working, if its got a de-cat the ecu will think you have a dead cat, you simply unplug the 2nd one, no modding required

So theoretically I could buy a phase 1 decat for my phase 2 172 and just not plug the 2nd Lambda in?
Would a custom pipe be cheaper than an off the shelf?

But your SERV light is likely to remain permanently on, and theres a chance your ECU will react negatively to the change.

my decat ran with both plugs in - no lights no problems, then 6 weeks later, the emissions light came on... took the 2nd plug out and taped it up, GDI erased the ECU fault that brought the emissions light on.. everything's rosy now.
