springs or coilovers?

  2005 liquid yellow 182
i want to lower my 182, but dont want it nose diving. ive got cup suspension already and it dips more at the front than the back. i want to lower it 30/40mm so it is even all the way round. wot would be best to achieve this?

will springs get it even all the way round or will i need coilovers?

cheers,
Ritch.

Coilovers are better, but i had Sportlines on my 182 and it was very nice and level. The ride however was a tad crashy!

Jack up wheel off C spanner out and reverse then do the next one lol simple just remeber and lock the Rings off with the alan key (thats what it is normaly)

is it that simple!? so jus jack up each wheel one at a time, adjust with spanner, lock off with allen key and jack back down?

is it hard to get the same level on all 4 coils?
(never had a crack at suspension wrk before haha sorry for the knobbish questions)

If your goot with a tape then no depending on how far you go it would be a good idea to get the track and camber checked if you go down alot if only a small amount you may want to have th track re done just to be sure

ok thanks for your help. just one more prattish question before i hang my head in shame. is it wise to setup the coilovers for the amount of drop u want before or after they are on the car? lol

(want a 40mm drop)

Chuck them on the car and see where it sits at the factory set and go from there then once your happy with them get the track and camber set up.

Various people on here have complained particularly about a harsh ride with gaz. Handling wise, plenty of options (H&R, KW, AST), if just for slamming I don't have a clue!! Think foxy's the person to ask about slammage.

haha slammage. yea i jus want to fill the gaps inthe arches and get a level set up on the car. dont like nose diving!

will take a look around. thanks for everyones help.

what sort of budget have you got? that will ultimately determine what you go for...

Nose diving has nothing to do with anything. Can get any car to do it. Not what id be concerned about when deciding what suspension to buy. thats down to the characteristics of the car. spring rates on coilovers will help that

yea but GDi or k-tec only do a small range so there is not much choice really is there.
Plus some people on here dont want to pay above £700 for a decent set, personally ill go to around £900 aslong as im comfortable.
