ok, i cant afford to spend loads on juicy coilovers, however i do remember that my 15/25mm eibach spring kit from eibach sorted out all the 172`s bodyroll and didnt effect comfort.

now i have the cup i want some lowering springs not coilovers i.e going onto standard shocks.

ktec do some 30mm ones but im concerned that these look like Apex or P.I from the pics and dont want a bone crunching ride, just some that lower reduce roll and are perhaps progressive to a point, a degree of hardness will be tolarated..

What makes of spring are avaliable for a 172 cup
Where to get
Price
and lowering ammount

ive seen some H&R 30 mm

but peeps enlighten me as to which ones to go for.

btw ive always thought 40mm springs on the 182 made the ride height perfect is there any such thing as 40mm springs for the 172cup ??

much appreciated

(pics would be good)

ohh bte they say they wont danage standard shock absober which eventually they probably will, so if they did would the company refund my difference or be liable to buy me a new shock ?

I had Apex on the 172, nice looks, improved turn in, ride a little bumpy, but nothing I couldnt live with.

errm.. are they the 30mm ones ? the springs i was talking about on my last car were the prolines at 15mm/25mm and they were great

where can you get the sportlines from ??? i think ktec used to sell them but i dont know if they do anyone they have some yellow 30mm springs on their site but no name about which model they are

I've got 40mm apex springs on my cup - just fitted them yesterday - the ride is a bit harsh - nothing stupid though. Although i suspect if your always driving down bumby country roads then you would find them a little stiff ! Don't really know about the handling yet not driven it much since yesterday - although turn-in seems a lot better !!! And for the price they seem alright !!
Good luck matey - oh and by the way - 40mm is a little optimistic !!

i had 30mm P.I springs later on fited to my car after the prolines and that was slammed but it was probably the shortened shocks of the koni`s.

has anyone treid mix and matching shocks/springs before ?
also is it possible to say.. buy springs then later buy some aftrmarket shocks ?

Yeah that's what i plan to do - i'm gonna do something else next year maybe shox or coilovers - not sure yet - i suppose it sepends on my finances !!

The apex website says that these are designed to use with the standard shox - so to make a claim like that they must have had to do at least some research !!

By the way - it is a piece of p1ss to fit them compared to fords and peugeots - which i've done before - they took me all day - and on the clio it only took about an hour and a half - and that was taking our time!!

Eibach sportline are the best, way better ride and performance than the APEX.

When you can afford it get the Koni shock aswell and this makes another significant improvement.

I have both on the cup and it handles as good as the trophy i have driven and is a little bit more comfortable. Last thing it lowers the car 30mm i would say and looks just right. Even at the Ring no tyre rubbing etc.

now, see when i had the P.I spring on koni shocks it was bone crunching but when i put my eibach prolines with koni shock it was nicer (still fairly harsh at times) but rolled more hmmm...

also what about H&R springs ? motorsport world do -30mm H&R so which to get eibach or H&R ?

Hence get sportlines - best compromise of all the springs.

I've got Eibach Pros. The ride is really no different, but the handaling is defo better; a lot less roll.

They look a little lower at the front, maybe 10mm but no lower at the back.
