squeaky gears ??????

When i change gear or just move the stick on my mk2 ph1 there is a slight squeaky, rubbing noise that can be heard in and out of the car. Any ideas, do i just need lube or a new gear box.

did it on my mk1 ph2 1.2 RN, but never solved it, even after a new gearbox was put in (other gear box went pop :approve: )

I had this problem in my old 1.2 mk2ph1. Have a look under the car and put some grease where the gear selector rod goes into the gearbox as this can dry and queak. You may have to remove a plastic under cover.

rip the gaitor up and grease it like you would your wanger b4 you break a bird in... wd40 will get in there quick but wont last like grease will
