Squeeky gearstick

as the title says, my gear stick is squeeky, when ever i move it, its squeeks and feels a little stiff, was gonna replace my gearbox oil as it has felt stiff for a while, but now not sure thats whats wrong, any ideas?

lube the gate.

they are only nylon, they can dry out and squeek like a hoe.

mine did it for a while.
