Stalling

  White Clio 1.2 @ 172
In the last few days My car starts then stalls instantly as if the fuel pump isn't pumping fuel etc.

Even with my foot down it stutters and strugles then stalls, I recently installed a new alarm but ive disconeccted the relays etc for the alarm and removed the imboliser to check it wasn't that, I had also noticed my sidelights had gone off and my indicators. then the started motor wasn't working at all.

So I ran back through everything I had done, removed air filter (fine) and I had also drilled a new hole near where the main inlet for all the wires on the bulkhead was. So I checked behind the dash where the new power feed came in and I had noticed i had split 3-4wires so I connected them back up again. Starter motor is working once again but the engine still stalls???? (the starter motor wire was TINY like 30awg or something! wtf is with that) It might not directly be the wire but when it's disconnected it stops the starter motor working I know that much.

Anyway any help would be largely appreciated I've been off work for 4days now (not good just before xmas)

Thanks in advance Dean

i had this problem but not on a clio and it was the lamba sensor on or near the exhaust, i would get it into a garage to check it over.

The thing is it has to be something i've messed with,

You know the red button the fuel cut off switch, is there a way to bypass this so i know for sure it's not this because i see it as nothing but a nuisance!

I haven't touched the manifold or the exhaust apart from the fact that i have a full cat back but this has been fine for 6months it's only since when i've wired in the alarm that it's went hay wire.

It just starts then custs out. :S

If it helps it's a Clio 1.2 8v MK2 PH1 MPi on S plate (98)
