Standard exhaust blow

Hi, new to the forum here. I have an 05 182, and it sounds like there is an exhaust leak coming from near the engine. Can mainly hear it on idle, which is uneven and a bit rattly. Nothing serious but i'm fussy!

At first i thought it was coming from the front pipe/Cat join but having just got underneath it sounds like it's coming from nearer the engine.. having said this the front pipe/cat join was wet from condensation on start up but only for a few seconds. It's only done 16k so not best pleased. Is this a common fault? I've used the search tool but nothing found.

it would be very useful if exhaust places opened in the evening when most people have some spare time!

im quite sure most 182's my old one included do rattle and splutter about a bit when cold so the idle is not too good

Im in a similar situation to you mate, except cant hear it on idle... only when giving it beans. Been to lots of garages, including one today (which was Hi-Q but were a top bunch on guys. Only 3 there and they all treid to fix mine at the same time - maybe casue i said take it for a drive lol)

Anyway, at first it sounds like the area of the cat but when under the car reving, it sounds like its up above the manifold somewhere and therefore goes beyond my mechanical abilities. Just wish i was further south so that i could get it fixed my the specialists on here.

Im starting to think that its maybe an induction leak or even the inlets !

But what puts the spanner in the works is that when driving, it sounds like its coming directly below the passenger footwell..... so ive no idea lol

they all leak in front of the cat where it joins the manifold and from behind the cat where it joins the centre section, its a "feature"
