standard or induction?



  clio sport ph1 172
what are best for the sport engine? standard air box or induction filter?? i have an induction but still have the standard air box sat in my garage not sure whats best for the engine? opinions welcome.

On a standard car you won't tell any difference, want that induction roar or not is the question.

The standard setup is an induction filter... all car's have an induction filter.

To answer what I think you're asking, unless you're going to couple a performance filter with a free flowing exhaust and remap, there's little benefit to be had with just the performance filter on its own.

Except noise!, if you have a MK1 172 standard airbox you cannot improve its design.

A relocated cold air feed might help in lowering intake temps :) and a panel filter will just make more induction noise :cool:

Use that guide, i did that along with a pipercross panel filter and pulled 165bhp / 149 torque , which was better than some 172's with many more mods.
