Starting problems.

Hello Everyone.

I've just starting having a problem with my 51 reg 172. When I got the car this morning I put the key in the ignition, turned and nothing happened. Nothing, starter motor dind't even try. So I turned the ignition off and tried again and still nothing, I did this about 5 times. Then all of a sudden it started, perfectly like nothing had been wrong.

Then got to my car this evening after being a work and the same thing happened, but it lasted longer this time, about 15 times I tried the ignition, and then again it started like nothing had happened!

I've just been out to the car to try it again after being home for 30 mins and it started no probs every time.

It it most likely just a looses connection on the starter motor, or has any one else had a similar problem?

What happened on the dash did the red light go off? Did any of the dahs come on? Was there any power for the stereo etc?

Happened to me in my dynamique. Was a faulty starter motor. Renault replaced it then it happened again because they didn't tighten the wires up enough when the replaced it Could just be a loose wire to the starter, id check that 1st.

The battery light stayed on, and there was power to the stereo, lights etc.. but it just din't do anything. Since the day of me posting it has only happened once more, and apart form that it has started 1st time!
