Starting

Hi All

Recently expierenced a problem when trying to start the 172. Last night I started the car, turned over and started then cut out a few seconds later like it couldnt keep going. Tried again, same thing happend. Then tried a third time and gave it some revs and no problem at all car ran fine. Left the car a bit started her again and no problems as I am guessing a little warm.

Tried it this morning and car started fine (was cold too) did sorta struggle for the first few seconds.

Could this be down to me turning the key to quickly and not letting the fuel flow? First time I have had the problem, car has had a major service to recently so everything has been changed. Just wondered if it was common or not.

No warning lights are on so cant see there being a problem with any of the car's sensors.

Cheers

Louis

crank sensor might be on the way out. Turning the key fast should have no effect on it starting tbh

ouch! sounds expensive :( I thought it wouldnt be sensor related due to there being no warning lights lol. The car does have a rough low idle at times which i am putting down to characteristics as most people have this but its a pain when not being able to start first time lol.

Crank sensor is a cheapish fix, I've got one spare thats near enough brand new if you fancy it?

Your not far from me...
