Std speaker setup - where is the front xover?

On a Mk2 V6 (same I'm sure as the 172/182) where is the xover for the front speakers?

its built into the standard tweeter in the dash

So is it just an inline capacitor then? If I wanted to replace the tweeters with a setup that uses a proper xover what's the best way to go about wiring it all up?
