Steam Summer Sale

Bought Total War: Shogun 2 and some indy RPG thing so far.

I always end up going f**king mental with these Steam sales and never actually playing half the games I buy. I can't help myself. BAARRGAAIINNNSS!

  Evo 5 RS
I almost went for MW3 at 20 quid but didn't. Still to dear.

I got Dark Fall: Lost Souls as it was 2 quid. Looking at it now though, I want my money back

  Alien Green 200
payday the heist is a bargain for £3.75 or whatever. been playing with my housemate all night

  1.2 Mk2 Clio P1
Already splashed out pretty badly in this sale :S So far have purchased: Anno 2070, Tropico 4 (Loving the strategy games) and Darksiders. Already racked up 6 hours played on Anno, it's so immersive!

  Yaris Hybrid
Only if you can find people to play with, but even then it gets repetitive quite quickly!

I bought Alan Wake, realised how s**t the console port was and promptly uninstalled it.

What was wrong with the port? In my opinion it was easily one of the better ports I have seen.

Absolutely poor performance? :S

Well that's fair enough and I can't argue with that if it ran badly on your system.

Personally it ran really smooth on mine on the max settings and my system is nothing special. Looked miles better than the console versions.

In comparison to say the notoriously bad conversions of Arkham City and GTA IV which run like a bag of pants and you wonder where all the power is going!

If you find those run Ok and Wake doesn't then I'd recommend doing some further investigation.

Damn these low low prices. I had only intended to buy ARMA 2 in the sales so i can give Day Z a bash. What ive bought so far:

2 x Payday the Heist: Me and a friend gave this a bash for a few hours last night. Not bad for a cheap lil game. Seems like it has infinitely spawning cops in some places unless you move forward into the level. Thats a right pain in the tits and makes it a pretty hard game. Oh and i had to install an old Nvidia Physx driver as it wouldn't work (and i have a ATI card!)
Dead Island: Feels like a cross between left for dead and Borderlands. Bit of fun in co-op but it is repetitive even after only 2 hours of play.
Saints Row the Third: Game seems to be like a GTA piss take. Fun enough. Only played for an hour the other night but I got 2 blue screens of death .
Bioshock 2 & Max Payne 3: Still downloading these but most people seem to like them. I have fond memories of the old Max Paynes so im looking forward to that.

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
I've not bothered with anything so far, Max Payne 3 is a very good buy if you didn't already have it.

Yeah it ran like utter pants compared to GTA IV tbh, I guess it doesn't like my crossfire setup :(

  MK4 Anni & MK5 Edt30
Bought BTTF this morning, looks pretty good for 4 quid.

Also, Portal 2 is awesome.

Let me know if you need somebody to co-op Portal 2 with. I still haven't played it on co-op (even though I bought the game on the release date) because everybody I knew had already completed it and I wanted somebody who didn't know the maps like me.

Hopelessly addicted to Legend of Grimrock. It was a main Steam sale and then one of the flash sales as well - Picked it up for about £1.50 on Friday - I'm already 8 hours in. Best £1.50 I've spent for a while!

Proper old school RPG. Infact, it's a shameless rip-off of Dungeon Master (Atari ST and Amiga) but seeing as Dungeon Master is probably the greatest game ever made that's no great crime. Some of the puzzles are fiendish. Thank f**k for the internet actually cos I've gotten completely stuck twice.

It's meant for fans of Dungeon Master, they said that themselves! Personally I don't see the fascination with it, it's like being old skool for the sake of it. Doesn't mean it's good lol. I played half hour last night and grew bored, but will probably fire it up again at some point. Actually it just makes me want to try Dungeon Master again

It's not as good as Dungeon Master I don't think but it's fun. I do have a copy of a windows port of DM somewhere - I do quite fancy digging it out actually! It's a bit of a PITA to save however and the sounds is a b*****d to get working.

As for Grimrock - Well it's only a small, indie game so it's not meant to be competition for Skyrim or anything. For a little game only costing a couple of quid it does okay. An amusing bit of nostalgia really. Definitely wouldn't recommend it at full price but heavily discounted and for fans of DM - It's worth a go.

Just bagged myself a couple of the Prince of Persia games in the flash sale. The old ones such as The Two Thrones were epic games and at only £1.70 ish I couldn't resist!

  Shit little Yaris...
I want destruction Derby 2 on PC (Used to hammer the crap out of it on PS1!)

Metro 2022 (some dude told me it was the best SP FPS since HL2 and it was only a couple of quid)

Dear Esther (faggy name, looks a bit of a faggy game but it's supposed to be a gorgeous game and it was only about a quid)

Wavered for a while on Age of Empires III but £7.50 seemed a bit dear for such an old game when there's so many other stupendous bargains to be had.
