Steering angle sensor calibration- need help

  160bhp saxo- clio182
I have had the diagnostics on the car... Came back with angle sensor was reading 300 degrees...
I have just had the engine out for a cambelt change...
I have read that you can take the steering wheel off and set the sensor/squib to get a green/blue light indicator and this will wipe the fault...
is this true as I will be attempting this tomorrow?
many thanks

Yes you can. Should be nothing to do with taking the engine out. There is a window with the colour indicator in. Yellow is in the middle.

Yes I'm not sure if the steering wheel got moved whilst I had the engine out.... I read that I should be able to go on a full lock, return to centre indicator reset/ changed then progress another half turn- lights will go out etc etc

Sounds like the joint was seperated and has spun then.

Awkward to get to in order to correct TBH if you arent used to working on them, so might be easier if you take the wheel and off and spin the sensor itself.

I have taken the wheel off located the yellow marker... Lights are still on hmmmm is there anything else to this as that was pretty straight forward- take wheel off spin sensor to yellow marker with the (Pom) at the top put wheel back on

Right little update- air bag light came on after refitting the steering wheel... Managed to wiggle the connections behind the wheel and the light has now turned off, so happy bunny.
i managed to get the abs light off some how, but now the Serv light and tc light come on as soon as I move the wheel....
Any ideas- could this be related to the angle sensor?

Did you manage to sort this mate?

I've had the same issue for a while.

Are you sure you haven't connected the rack 180 degrees out or taken the column shaft out of the UJ?

Mine moved when I dropped the subframe, which is why I've got the TC/SERV light issue once I move the steering wheel.

I dunno how to reset it though! Is it as described above? Or do I need some CLiP action?
