Steering issue

  Clio sport 182 04
Hi I have a clio sport 182. Recently I've had problems with steering going stiff on one side and a knocking sound when I steer to the left. I've been to the garage and had new track rod end and steering looked at plus a new ball joint. Yet it's still doing this, previously the steering wheel would vibrate like a spin dryer and this has seemed to of stopped. Please can anyone advise me on what it could be. The steering seems to stiffen on uneven roads n speed bumps and the knocking is still there. I also noticed that when the car is stationary n I turn the steering wheel it clicks. I work as a community carer so use the car always so need this sorting. I've never had any problems with it until I had new tyres a couple months ago then I've had problems ever since.

Mmm not sure who's down that neck of woods on here (specialist wise). Could be a top mount. When you say clicks does it feel like its jumping, like a twanging noise? Road spring snapped?

Not really more like a thudding sound when turning sharp bends at 30mph. Not sure if it's me but I didn't feel today that the breaks were that responsive. And didn't feel like the car was pulling that well. Like I had to keep the revs going more that usual. Also it sounded like something flicking or caught somewhere like something flapping. I can't see anything when I look underneath the car and when my friend put it up on his ramp last wed everything looked and seemed fine from a mechanics point of view. But when I've driven it since fri gone I've noticed this condition is still there. And when u say jumping? Do you mean as though the car seems to jump? If so I think it might've done that earlier.

Hard to diagnose over the Internet mate, be worth taking it somewhere. Or pay the membership and post in the suspension section?

Hi it sounds like a knocking sound when Turning steering wheel whilst driving. When stationary and engines off I turn the steering wheel and it clicks lightly and a faint thudding sound. I've checked air pressure and that's all fine. And I can swear the garage done the steering rack but paperworks at home for it so will dbl check what was exactly done tonight after work. When my friend who owned the car previously had it up on his ramp he couldn't notice anything untoward with it. And he said he didn't experience anything when he drove it. Unfortunately however I am experiencing things and as a community carer I'm driving so much in little time gaps across all kinds of terrain and my car is my work horse so to speak so I rely on it a great deal. There is I noticed a southwest autos garage near my area of work who advertise they specialise in French cars so I might pop down there later. Any advise and recommendations however will be great fully appreciated.

Car seems to be ok since I last put a post up. My mate who knows the car had to put a new handbrake cable on yesterday. And today the steering wheel started to twitch a lot and vibrate. Could this be the tracking? My friend said all seemed fine when he drove it. And it only started doing this to me 15mins into driving to work so unsure what it can be. It's the same sensation I had before I had the track rod done n ball joint so something to do with steering I'm certain
