Ive had a bit of a problem with twitchy steering recently so jacked the front of the car up and found a bit of horizontal play in the wheel on the drivers side only. The track rod ends are fine so its either going to be inner track rod or steering rack. I'd assume as its on one side that it would likely be the inner track rod that is worn. I put the car into a garage to get a second opinion and they have just phoned me to say it needs a new steering rack! Is there any way i can test when i get the car back if it is definately the steeirng rack and not the inner track rod? Any advice would be much appreciated!
