steering rack. or top mount bearing?

I'm not shore which one has start to go or if it is both is there an easy way to tell?

What's your symptoms?

If its vague handling it might be track rods or track rod ends.

When i go over a speed hump there is a heavy knock an 3ish little knocks when turning lock to lock an the top of supsention moves around alot while turning from lock to lock. When jacked up there is play in both wheel when hands are at 3 & 9 an none at 12 &6 i've had one new track rod end put on an replaced all the bottom ball joints!

usual culprits are strut top mounts or inner track rod ends

Where is the best place to get some top mounts from?

Yeah track rods themselves, not the track rod ends. This tightened up my 172 hugely

There's always movement of the strut tops from lock to lock it looks really awful but is pretty normal.

I can get my fingers underneath the strut tops when on full lock is that normal?
