Steering rack replacement?

My steering rack is noisy - and needs replacing.

Can't decide whether to buy a new one, try and find secondhand or get it reconditioned.


Not sure on prices for the above either. Thoughts/ recommendations?

Also are the racks different for cup packed and non cup packed? As I've read somewhere that they are.

Ok so for reference - the racks are essentially the same; the arms are different but these are interchangeable.

You can get a 2nd hand one of ebay for £40-50 that would be your beat bet I reckon.

Cheers, yeah swapped out for a 2nd hand low mileage item.
