After a little advice,

After doing a bit of research on the forum, google etc. I came across a lot of old information about the steering wheel thumb grips on a phase 2 172, obviously these wear quite quickly...

The only replacements I could find were carbon fiber ones priced at £99.99,

IMO, I might as well get an aftermarket steering wheel right?

Well, You could get yours re trimmed with new leather and grips?

costs around £100, its what i plan on doing when i find myself a second hand wheel to use whilst mine is off getting trimmed.

do a forum search for "snappy wheel".
Snappy is a member who retrims them. Best money you can spend on your car.
