Camera's a 58mm and the lens i've got (Old boy's kit) is 55...Ghetto!

eh? the lens mount will be the same, the lens filter ring may be different.

no. Canon is 58..??! Fisheye is a 55mm...Hence needing a ring to step down between the two...

58mm is the filter thread, the lens mount (EOS EF) will be the same to fit it to the camera.

Does the fisheye screw into the filter thread on the lens?
