I have recently noticed that changing gears is not as smooth as before. Particularly second to third while giving it some. Sometimes it feels like the second gear is stuck and the same for fifth. I want to avoid changing the gearbox or clutch, is the anything else I can do like changing the gearbox fluid or engine/gearbox mounts? Its a 172 ff on a 52 plate and has done 42k. I have spent loads of money on this car and would like to keep it if I can get the gear change snappy and smooth again.
