Dodgy one
Just had a new (renault supplied) gearbox fitted into my 182 with a new clutch.
I expect the gears will probrably be a bit stiff for the first thousand miles or so?
I will add i can get every gear! From cold 1st is easy to get, 2nds rather stiff, 3rd has free'd off and now goes in smooth once warm, 4th is smooth, 5th is a bit tough when cold too.
Also it was nice and easy to select the gears when the box wasnt in the car and my last box on 74k was as smooth as a nut, until it started leaking and whining!
What are the suggestions? Wrong box oil cause it? Should i buy the shims from Renault and re-align the linkage? according to dialogys they're only a few quid.
