You would know if the timing was out by the way it drives/idles.

Lambda sensor(s) is my bet. Is it a specialist you've taken it too?

its just had a new timing belt before i bought it two months ago :S so i duno, well it took it back to the place i got it to and he couldnt find the problem so he took it to a so called specialist

They sound dodgy as hell.

Take it to someone that know what they're talking about.

IMO, when backstreet garages are baffled by a car's problem, they pick the most expensive repair by default.

well, i took the dodgy one out, then got pissed of trying to fit the new one, realy aquard place to get to, so dad managed to get it in after 2 hours of f'ing and blindin at it.

never ever going to attempt to do it again, leave it to the experts

if it's still under warranty from Renault, let em sort it, other wise if you can be bothered to mess about fitting it your self, get one from europarts

Haven't you found out what the fault code is yet?

If theres a light up on the dash there will be a fault code that will tell you what the problem is.
