stone chips prevention

where i live we have a right of way separating the houses, and have this old codger come and cut the lawns. He turns up every saturday in his robin reliant with his lawn mower in the back of it, when he moves from the front of the house to the back he dont stop his mower but keeps it going, if he hits a stone up and hits my clio how the hell do i make a claim against him?

If i cant claim where would i stand by tipping his reliant on its side?

what i wanted to know was could i claim against him because its on private property and he was invited round to cut the lawn.

The tipping bit may sound extreme but i bloody would do if i couldnt claim!

private property you could claim but you would need a witness or it would be your word against his, why dont you just explain your concernt to him and maybe he wil turn it off?

the thing is you know what these old village type people are, there a law unto themselves and dont like outsiders (me) so it is no good talking cause they dont listen all you get is "ive lived here all my life........"

Why not go out on Saturday to help? You said yourself hes an old guy - probably fought in the war or something. Go and give him a hand!

LOL. Well personally mate id just take him to oneside and express your concerns. Dont go down the stone chips route, play the old, when I first cut the grass with my dad a rock flew out and broke a window - that might do the trick ;)

it also amazes me how hes claiming disability because he couldnt work but can lift a 4hp petrol lawnmower out the back of his car!

It could be the stripped out cup version hence why he can lift it !

Seriously it sounds like he keeps it going so he doesnt have to lift it and in all fairness hes probably unaware how you feel.A car is just a car to most people.

Have a polite chat with him and tell him as has been suggested that its happened before and you dont want it to happen again. If he does as you ask slip him a few bob as a thank you,its cheaper than a repair.

Or

Just move your car while he does his thing, hes only doing a job and trying to do it as easy as he can.

Queer folk these village people.

If you are nice to him and he still refuses to play ball get some b**ch piss and put it into an empty washing up bottle and squirt messages into the grass !
