STOP & Handbrake Light on

Wondered if anyone had experienced this before. Only had my 182 for a couple of weeks, so hoping its nothing too major.

I was on a dual carriageway and there was a fair bit of standing water about, travelling at about 60mph. Went through a bit of water but nothing too deep, suddenly the STOP and handbrake light came on. Checked the handbreak and that deff wasn't on.
They literally flashed on for a couple of seconds then went off.

Anyone able to help - Cheers :)

Bit of a novice when it comes to car maintenance, how would you check if it was the pads - is there a certain size they shouldn't be allowed to get to?

Thanks in advance;)

Take the whell off and look in the gap how low you let the pads go is upto you. Renault say any less than 6mm or so and there fully worn out others leave them till there nothing left.
