Stop light/ handbrake fault?

Hey guys, so just now when I was driving home, the red STOP light along with the (!) lights came on, and flickered on and off a bit then went to a steady on for the rest of the drive, and after getting home I have restarted the car with no change. The brake lights are on so basically its like Im driving with the handbrake on, except the STOP light is also on... Any ideas ? I think it could be the handbrake sensor but thought I would come on here first and see if anybody knew any better..

Never mind, was low brake fluid.. novice error.
