Stop, Serve and Handbrake Lights

  R26
A friend of mine noticed these three lights come on for about a second or two as I was accelerating round a left hand bend. I've done a search and have come up with either low brake fluid or worn pads. I'm yet to check the fluid level in the car (still bloody hot!) and the pads seem fine. If the level is ok what else can it be? Also can I just top up the brake fluid with any dot 4 or does it have to be the same brand that's in there now? Stupid qiestion I know but I'm more about electronics in a car!

Cheers

I've had the same on my old 172 and my 182 , on a sweeping right hand bend . Most likely that it is low level brake fluid . Check the brake fluid reservoir cap is on tight as they can come loose .

Any DOT 4 will do , castrol response is pretty good from Halfords , about £8.00 a litre . Could be a good time to bleed the system of the old fluid and replace with some nice new stuff .

Excellent, will have a look now, should be cool enough..... As for bleeding the whole system I've not got the time atm, may have a look next week if I get some time off! Will topping up be ok for the moment though?

Yeah topping it up will be fine . Use a funnel if you can and put some rags around the brake fluid reservoir because the exhaust manifold is below and if ya spill it it'll go all over the exhaust manifold and its flamable .

Right, I can't get the a*sing engine cover off, and I've run out of WD40! Will have a look at it again on Monday morning (my next bit of free time) and sort it then. I'll be ok till then right?
