stop sub sliding about

  LY 182
anybody have any tricks to stop a sub box sliding around in the boot? every time i chuck it round a corner a bit enthusiasticly the sub goes walkabouts, theres not really alot to anchor the thing to in the boot and im thinking if i just velcro it down it will just slide the boot floor cover about
any ideas ?

If it's easy for you to remove then it's even easier for the sub to hit you on the back of the head with a sharp tap of the brake!

Get it BOLTED!

false floor and velcro strips work fine for me

Ok, if your'e going to have an accident make sure you're parked! And hide under the dash :star:

mines on the passenger side so im safe :clown:

so technically whats the difference in having a sub fixed in the boot lightly with velcro and a boot with shopping/golf clubs/suit cases/bags etc?

surely saying you have to bolt a sub in the boot for safety is the same as saying everything that goes in your boot needs to be bolted in as well?

Anything heavy in the boot (such as a sub/box) has been known to end-up flying into the front in an accdident. The impact forces the back seat forward and your sub is airborne!

May not happen in all cases, but would YOU want the risk?

As the man Tigger says, get it bolted or screwed to a false floor - do you really want a 20kg lump of wood coming through the rear seat at your head?

Would you stand there while I swung a baseball bat at your head as hard as I could?

A sub box weighs a fook of a lot more in a crash due to kinetic energy!!

MDF floor with a cut out were the sub box is ment to be, get some thick MDF tho and just pop the sub in the hole. job done

i made false floor for mine, worked a treat and looked really cool too.

not hard to make at all, plus makes it alot harder to be stolen.

when my brother flipped his old clio hes 12" vide black air active sub ended up jammed behind he's seat.

ive tied mine down with a couple of bailing twine rope (stuff to tie bails of hay together which weigh a fair few stone) to the rear hooks

Get the extrawide Velcro from halfords or diy shop. Mines so secure its a right b**ch to remove!
