Stop warning light comes on for split second on dash board

I recently had my STOP light come on whilst driving, when ever it happens it only stays on for a split second, could this be major?

check your brake fluid

Thanks for reply and the fluid is bang on between min an max at the moment. Any ideas on what else could cause it
