Storing an engine.

Its looking increasingly likely that I will be buying a forged engine for a turbo build.

Is it worth storing my 75k full service history 182 engine as a 'spare'?

If so, what's the best way to store it?

I would say best to keep it in srorage for when the other goes bang lol....sorry I should be optimistic

Usually they will be fine, I left one in the garage for years and it was ok. Best to turn the engine over using the crank every so often, keeps things rotating.

Fill it to the brim with cheap oil. 100% coolant (no water) with the pipes plugged up. Don't forget to empty it before refitting. Or just do what i've done and bung it in the corner of the garage in component parts :headno:
