strange at 3000-4000 revs?

HI I have just joined up and hope to get a problem resolved on my wifes 1.4 16v 52 plate clio, and from what i make of it is that it's quite common. Car starts great but when driving the engines seems to hold back then when you put you foot down it goes like stink only about 3000-4000 revs.

Not much info but any ideas? the engine management light flased a few times when accelerting then went out again?

Now when i put my foot down in the Clio, after it goes past the flst spot and picks up it kicks out a cloud of grey smoke and the engine light flashes and then goes off, any ideas what this could be?

most likely injectors. mine did it when accelerating hard in 3rd/4th the EML/STOP and engine symbol with little stop in came on and then went off if i lifted off.
checked the fualt code on my dci and it was injectors at maximum pressure, result of having a tough life of being ragged around.

altho without you taking yours in for diagnostics , yours maybe something completely different

so, have a little more news.

I drove the car to work and it was awful did not want to be driven, the serv light came on and the oli light too, i put some oil in and the serv light went out and the oil is now up to the correct level.
But the car is still running a bit rough although it doe seem better than it was, a colleague at work thinks it is the lambda sensor?

I am calling in the Green Flag this morning to get them to diagnose it (hopefully) also gonna put new plugs in today see how that goes, i will post back with some news.

take your pick. Get it diagnosed

So i have now changed the plugs and the car is a little better now but still has a bit of a flat spot and a tiny bit of smoke, so i think i am getting somewhere.

Still getting the Green Flag out to diagnose.
