Strange Glass Marks

Washed my car the other week and noticed that the windscreen ended up with some pretty nasty water spotting (it was red hot / direct sunlight and it dried before I could towel it down).

Once I'd finished I went round with a cloth and some glass cleaner but it didn't shift it at all and even tried one of those green dish cleaning pads which did nothing.

Forgot about it for a while but even a week or so later, after a few rain showers and some blasts of the screen wash and wipers it's still there.

Any ideas?

As long as you have no glass sealant applied I'd try giving the glass a going over with a slightly abrasive polish, Something like SRP.

Maybe something like CarPro spotless will do the job?

What if I do have sealant applied?

I put some RainX on it about six months ago (absolutely crap BTW) but I believe that's worn off by now. Will I still be safe to use SRP?

Yeah I'd say Rain X has gone after 6 months, I'm presuming you don't have a massive arsenal of stuff so I'll stick with my SRP recommendation or similar polish depending on what you have.

In terms of polishes I don't think I've got much better. Half a bottle of SRP, some Dodo Juice all-in-one cleaner wax and some old ScratchX is pretty much it. No DA either.

SRP by hand should shift them from my experiences.
Give it a wipe over with Glass cleaner afterwards maybe just to remove some of the oils from the glass as may cause smearing when you next use your wipers.

Finally got around to giving it a go with SRP. Cleaned off the marks near instantly so it's all sorted.
