Strange handling (turn in oversteer)

  172 mk1 & S15 & ZX6R
Hi,
Got a bit of strange behaviour - well something that seems strange... On 'turn in' the clio 172 mk1 we've just got seems to have a slight snap oversteer. Quite disconcerting when your used to a RWD car.

Is this normal? I'll be getting the tracking checked soon.. but has the mk1 172's got adjustable rear toe as thats the only thing I can think of at the moment?

Nope fixed rear toe. You may have a bent rear axle bit I forget the name Fred breaks then a lot as hsi cars lowered but if it is its only cheap to fix.
Check the shocks aren't worn as this can lead to it.

not ajustable, but the rear bearings go on them every 30K(ish)

also check for bent stub axles and knackered top mounts

also knackered shocks

I'll have a look around the rear again then for any signs of damage. Has just had MOT and 72K service though and nothing came up.

Tyres are rubbish. but its not a consistant lack of grip just a bit of over yawing at the point of turn in. Could be I'm just not used to the handling but was thinking it should feel pretty good.
