Strong Rubber Smell

after a long run, theres a strange strong rubber smell coming from the car. cant put my finger on where its coming from tho, yea its more than likly the wheels but ive checked all around and there doesn't seem to be rubbing going on. anybody got any ideas?

the front shock does have a bit of oil splatter about, but the oil looks pretty old. steering feels fine aswell.

any ideas / feedback would be much appericated

Where is the smell coming from, ie where is it strongest?

If its on teh cockpit is it just when the blowers are on, on hot or cold.

Just a burning rubber smell really isn't much to go on tbh

could it a clutch burning smell or is definatly rubber??

it could be clutch, never thought about it! thing is its my gf car, she doesn't really ragg is much, and she had it in for a service only couple weeks ago so if it was anything todo with the tyres you would think tehy would have picked up on it.

to me, definatly smells like rubber, and im pretty sure its coming from the front. and its outside the car!

I know the smell itsn't much to go on, but is a bit worrying, she does quite a bit of mileage. just wondering if ppl had any feedback so i can check it over bit more, before having to take it to the garage.

im trying to think what clutch smells like again, id know it if i was to smell it but just cant remember! what model clio is it (MK2 1.2 16v etc) and how many miles has it done?

My money would be on the rear-most exhaust hanger my 172 used to do it. It stopped when it was replaced.

Ah what car... you guys gonno hate me for this, shes got a Vectra 1.9 Desiel., done 86K

just know you guys on here know what your talking about, and somtimes these things are universal, least now i can have a look under the rear and see how the exhuast is sitting.
