Strut bearings on the wrong way...

What do the bearings do in the strut?

If they are on the wrong way what will happen?

Could this be the cause of a knocking I am getting?

you'll damage them if their upside down, how did they end up upside down??

Well I thought this maybe what happened but it looks like this isn't the case.

I now think its just the old strut knocking problem you go started a thread about.

Only thing is there is about a 2cm gap between the strut top and shell when on full lock...
