Studio lights on location on a car

Well for xmas i got a studio lighting kit and yesterday i picked up a battery inverter meaning i can now power them on location.
here is a quick test pic just using a single head (ive got 2) without any softboxes etc. it was too cold outside to do it properly i just wanted to see if it worked

so what powers them? The car or a battery pack?

it uses the car battery mate just connects to it with jump lead style wires, you can leave the car engine running so not to run the battery down. most of the ones i was looking at cost about £80 as i needed a 400w inverter, where as argos have a black & decker one for £30.

be careful with running flash lights on inverters its possible as long as you have a constant load but I have melted many invertors due to this.

Just a 3.5kva generator, for big shoots we hire from which ever lighting company has one lying around.

make sure its a pure sin wave inverter
