Stupid question re fitting rear pads

Just realised my rear right caliper is seized so been to euros to pick up a new one.

On removing the pads I noticed on the back of the pads there is a notch sticking out.

Is this notch correct to be sat inside the cut outs in the piston?

Only reason I thought not is that as the piston needs to be rotated to go back in, surely it needs to rotate on the way out and it can't if the notch is in the piston?

yes it fits in the notches, always confused me as surely it would stop the piston rotating and pushing out as you mentioned

The screw adjuster for the handbrake floats in the housing - it can always get pushed out without rotating, but not vice versa.

Fair enough lol.

Anyway, Euros calipers fit fine, whoo.

Although it does look slightly different to my left side rear caliper, the arm where the cable goes is a slightly different design.

Fits fine though.
