right im lookng to but 2 boston acoustics 8.5LF subs, but can anyone work out what RMS power rating im looking at, here are the figures that boston supply

its a bit of a range of power? 50 to 1200?

anywhere around 300RMS should be about right,

exactly what i thought, though i am going for the 8.5 LF which the power range is 50-750 - i thought i would be looking at a 400RMS amp, just not running it anywhere near full power

yes, but dogmaul - its rockford fosgate, not exactly the best equipment for a SQ car is it??

tom the 1100d and MRD500 power ratings are just a bit too high for what i need - ive already looked at the JL 500.1 again and atm that seems to be the best option

yeah tom, defo considering the 6" subs, just it will take a lot of work



dogmaul - the only reason i would be going for 8" Boston Acoustics is purely for SQ, its not as if im gonna get 140db out of them

not really it all depends on the type of music you want to listen to the smaller the sub the faster it works and as for boston accoustics they arnt the best subs for sq

well its never going to be a performance car - as the BBTRR day will prove on sunday

the area i live in means that it would be inpossible to modify the bodywork to show-car standard

i love music, i spent over £3k on my home system, so i want good quality it the car (where i spend most of my time)

i suppose but by the time you have put enough dyna mat in to stop it all vibrating it will weigh so so much oh and if you live in a bad area is it wise to have a really really good setup in your car ?? i suppose i would rather spend more money on a better standard car but i suppose that is just me and that is just you

dogmaul the beauty of it is the whole install is going to be very stealth, i never play my music loud anyway so unless someone looks in the boot they are not going to know its in there

made the mistake with my 1st install of installing it out on the main road outside my house within 2 days it had gone walkabouts

just removed my last install and sold that with no problems of thieves

this one though i think is going to be the last time i change it all, if i wanted performance i would have bought an old BMW 525i - previously i have owned uno turbo, escort turbo, fiesta turbo, saxo vtr and many more - i have had enough of paying through the teeth for insurance, petrol and repairs so i thought id go for a smaller engined car and go mad with the stereo

i think that should be just about right
