Subs

  Clio 1.2 Dynamique
whats the difference between 4ohm subs and 2ohm subs, and which is the better one?

No one is explicitly better. Its just how it gets the power.

Amps can supply more power at lower resistance, generaly, so big power subs are normaly duel 2ohm, so can be wired to 1ohm.

What are the subs?

Ohm's are important when matching a sub with an amp, but do not give a sign on how good a sub is.

The amp is rated 400rms at 2ohm and the sub is a duel 4ohm, so u can wire the sub to show 2ohm and give it 400rms.

Just go easy on the gains, and make sure you set them correctly, and your p.d to the amp is good.

There are a few other parameters that change depending on the 'load' an amp sees.....

As far as output quality goes, a 4ohm load would be better than a 2ohm load, the difference isn't as great as say using different classes of amp, (class AB is way better than class D), but there is a difference....

To be fair, most people wouldn't be able to distinguish between a 2ohm sub & a 4ohm sub quality wise, but a fair few would be able to tell the different amp classes apart.....

Have a read of POST 4 , gives a basic explanation of the relationship between 'impedance' and 'draw'....
