sump cover?

Does anybody bother with the plastic cover under the engine?

I took mine off today to change the oil and saw its also got a giant sponge like thing over it aswel. Is it ok to just put the plastic back on without the sponge thing as mines ripped

Should be fine.....
Better to have a cover than nothing there at all.

As for the sponge stuff i dunno what thats for.

Maybe sound insulation or to soak up the drips from the never ending gear oil Rs clios weep out :dapprove:

Yeh I noticed quite alot of oil on the gear box, take it this is normal. Was planning on changing gearbox oil soon anyway.
