Sump Gasket Help required Urgently

Hi all,
I am trying to do the sump gasket on my brothers clio (N reg, 1.2 8v).
I have removed the flywheel cover plate and also the exhaust front section. I have undone all the sump bolts after draining it and the sump is free from the car but i cannot get it any further down from the engine than about an inch.

What do i need to do to rmove the sump?

I did an X reg one and had to undo the subframe and drop it down that way, was a bit of a pain but came out in the end with some wiggling and if you need to just undo the top engine mounts and lift with an engine crane slightly.
