I think these engines are tough little things and wouldn't have an issue with 250 with sensible little upgrades (oil cooler, arp big end bolts etc) together with sympathetic driving. The rotrex is actually significantly kinder to the engine than an eaton or turbo from a peak cylinder pressure at low RPM point of view.

I would have more of an issue keeping up with the gearbox changes.

Given I’ve owned a rotrex supercharged clio, I wouldn’t be running more than 250bhp at the fly, let alone the wheels.

I didn't know you previously had one? Did it explode?

Sorry, I also read the advert as 257 at the fly not the wheels - I would have big suspicions about that figure haha.

😂

Didn’t blow up, no. But I’d say around 250bhp at the fly was close to the “safe” limit for a car you want to do regular miles in….I regret selling it now, but life goes on;
