supercharger pistons?

  ep3
After abit of advise really if anyone can help? Which forged pistons and rods would be best used for a supercharged 182? Iv been recommended to use 9.5-1 ratio pistons but carnt find anyone that makes any for a clio. Any advise?
Thanks.

You'll need custom pistons mate as the only off the shelf one available are from wossner and are 8.5:1.

The megane 225 pistons are 9.5:1 so you could send one to have it copied but the valve cutouts aren't as large as the 182's so you will need them modifying otherwise when the VVT engages you'll have a valve to piston interface :(

Try Paul @ RStuning AFAIK he's the only person to have custom pistons made.

most forged piston manufacturers will do custom C/R to your requirements.

9.5:1 is a little lower than I'd spec, but depends on your output expectations and what charger you're using

Thanks for the advise, well im hoping to get as close to 350bhp as possible. Im trying to look at all options. its the supercharger conversion by rstuning. so what C/R pistons would you reconmmend and whos the best person to speak to?
thanks again.

Why don't you study the graphs from the conversions that have already been done then using a rule of thumb guesstimate how much boost vs CR your gonna need to run to achieve your goal?

IE a stock clio makes roughly 165bhp? by introducing a SC and running 0.5 bar it makes in the region of 250-260bhp therefore (without taking into consideration pressure drops across intercoolers, increased temps from the air being compressed more etc...) you can say that @1bar you'll be looking at 330-340 on stock CR realistically though there will be inefficiencies so your probably looking at nearer 320?

Also the more you lower the CR the more boost you'll need to add which means different sized pulleys and loads of airflow calculations. Whilst this isn't an exact science I'm sure you can see the pattern.
