Oh my god. A business is trying to make money?? How very dare they.

Indeed they are, but like anyone else with a markup of more than 1000% percent if someone asks me if its good value I will say no.

It is without a doubt a complete rip off, people think they are getting 300 pounds worth of sealant, they arent, they are just getting 100 quids worth of sealant and labour (at most) and paying an extra 200 pounds in stupid tax.

My neighbour has 'this polish wot means you dont need to polish it for free years' on his TT. The dark blue paint is swirled and scratched to fcuk. It gets driven to town on a Saturday by the wife, then he 'cleans' it with a soapy yellow sponge straight onto dry paint on a Sunday, chamois then scrubs the dirt off (I was stood next to him) and there it sits for another week.

He 'give' (his words) 20k for it too. £20k to drive into town once a week.

Mental.

Car almost needs a respray there's so many properly deep scratches on it !!

I wasn't allowed to collect mine unless they cleaned it first. Swirl marks all over!

I'd have told them they can keep it then ! Bellends.

When Sash got her new car they were told specifically not to wash it !!! It looks perfect still.

Chip-Mk1 do you drink coffee?

No mate. Why?

going to say its a big mark up?

i drink premix coke for a quid a time that costs them 2p to make. But wasting 98 percent of a quid for convenience doesn't bother me, but wasting a huge percentage of 300 quid would.

Its all relative, alot of things have crazy mark ups but if they sell they sell.

Its an easy sell as its a tiny amount ontop of the thousands being spent. People who tend to have it aren't big fans of keeping their new car clean, but do want it to be as tidy as it can be for the first time they drive it. If they are lead to believe this "amazing" product does what they say why would they not say yes to it. I'll go back to my coffee analogy, if you go out for a 3 course meal and are asked if you'd like a coffee afterwards you may say yes, after all you've spent X amount anyway. It costs them sod all to make but you pay a few quid and are happy.

Don't get me wrong, this Superguard B@llock isn't worth anywhere near what they ask, but people do go ahead with it and are probably happy.

LOL

The car we are getting is white so hopefully swirls won't be that obvious anyway. He was very insistant that they give it a "valet" before we pick it up :(

The black one we test drove (only had 5 miles on the clock before we took it out), was already swirled up almost as bad as my 2007 black civic.

Nope not even vaguely, its 20 quid of product, is an hours labour to put on, and then is just an enormous chunk of profit for them.

TBH I would think even people who sell heroin to kids would blush at the margins that dealers make on superguard, it really is properly immoral.

Exactly that.

I had a summer "off" my IT job and worked for a valeting company, it's £20's worth of paint sealant and fabric sealant. Takes an hour or two max to apply. The fabric stuff is nasty - had to wear breathing apparatus and one lad collapsed doing it :|

That being said the cars we did treat did have a nice "freshly polished" feel after every wash for the first year - and the fabric stuff is handy if you spill liquids on the interior as it just runs off.. But yeah you could do it all yourself with a kit off ebay for £20.

Oh and the reason they INSIST on doing a valet before you collect is if you ever saw a car come in fresh from the boat/loader you wouldn't buy new

About 10% of brand new cars had to have paint work done to them. By the time you've removed all the protective plastic cover b****cks, and washed it all down there's usually some paint damage. The interiors are minging too - covered in plastic again that you have to cut/peal off.

I believe if applied properly its no better than SRP. Seeing Supagard applied at work day in and day, you would be better off doing it yourself.
Most occasions they are just sealing in dirt/dust/tree sap/tar.

well we picked the car up last week. They applied it anyway, even though we said we didn't want it. I'm certainly no pro at detailsing but they seem to have done a decent enough job. His answer was "we had a few spare "kits" laying around so we put it on free of charge". Left us with a breifcase of superguard bits too that I may aswell use up, shampoo, bird lime remover, wheel sealent spray and a SPONGE! lol

Gave it a quick was yesterday, using a mitt and some megs shampoo and tbh it came up rather well. The Superguard was definately on there, could tell from the water behaviour. Be interesting to see how long it lasts.
