Surround sound with a PS3?

If i use the PS3 as a proper Bluray Dvd player and get rid of my old one...
Can i get proper Surround sound? DTS and all that schpleil?

Just wondered really... i assume it would mean getting a surround sound amp etc..

will it support DTS and the likes etc? how would it be done?
HDMI straight into Amp to support the picture AND audio? then take Picture onto Tv? or does the PS have an optical jack?

really the amp needs to support hdmi 1.3 and true hd sound etc

but either optical or hdmi to amp then hdmi to the tv from the amp

Would you loose any picture qual by running through an extra source?
Or could you just run the audio through the amp and the visual straight to the tv?

Either run the HDMI into an amp and then back out into the screen or use the optical out on the PS3 into an amp or surround sound system and the HDMI straight into the back of the screen.

Having an amp with with HDMI inputs and outputs would be the easiest method. Depends on how much you have to spend. I've watched a film being played on an earlier sony amp with HDMI and I was impressed by it.

The one in you link looks good.
